This kit contains all materials necessary to complete one spot test for iodine.

Why iodine?
An essential element for health, iodine's primary function is in the production of thyroid hormones. A widely misunderstood element, iodine is needed throughout the entire body to maintain proper and normal daily functions.
This test provides a quick snapshot of current levels of iodine in the body, evaluating pre-supplementation status.
Kit includes:
--Information & instruction booklet
--16-oz. urine collection cup
--Vial
--Shipping materials, including prepaid return mailing label, absorption material, and ziplock bag
--All materials contained in cardboard shipping box.
Spot urine test instructions:
--If you are currently taking any supplements containing iodine, for accurate results please stop taking 48 hours before beginning the test.
--In the 16-oz. collection cup, collect the first urine excretion when you awaken.
--Pour urine into the vial with the purple lid (fill approximately ¾ of the way full), tightly secure the lid, and shake. The urine will turn blue/green due to dye in the vial (which acts as a preservative).
--Fill out the label on the front of the vial.
--Mail immediately upon completion of test.
Shipping instructions:
--Wrap the vial with the provided absorbent material.
--Place in zip lock bag.
--Place back in box.
--Fill out required information and include in box along with vial.
--Seal box, place provided shipping label on front of box.
--Drop box off at nearest post office, US mail collection box, or give to your mail carrier.
The results of the test will be mailed directly to you.
Interpreting the results:
A level below 0.15 mg/L is defined as an iodine deficient state according to the World Health Organization.
